COASTAL BAND Motor cruising is forbidden closer than 300 metres from the banks (reduced to 150 metres in the gulf of Sal๒, from Barbarano to Rocca di Manerba). Crossing of this area is permitted in a perpendicular direction to the coast at a maximum speed of 3 knots, but not in areas reserved for swimming.
SPEED The maximum speed permitted is 20 knots during the day and 5 knots at night. Speed on entering or leaving ports must not exceed 3 knots.
SKIN-DIVING, WINDSURFING, WATER-SKIING Skin-divers must indicate their presence with the use of a buoy and must be assisted by a support unit. Water-skiing is subject to specific regulations (launching corridor, equipment of towing unit, requirements for relative personnel). The use of windsurfing boards is allowed from one hour after dawn until sunset and only in conditions of good visibility: use of a life jacket is compulsory.
JET SKIS Regulations are established by individual communes. It is therefore necessary to contact the local offices of the Polizia Municipale.
PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT NOISE The noise of engines must be limited so as not to disturb the peace.
WASTE DISPOSAL It is absolutely forbidden to throw waste of any kind into the lake, including oil combustion residues.
WASHING OF CRAFT Craft coming from areas outside the lake must be subjected to washing of the hull before haulage.
AREA RISERVED FOR SAILING AND WINDSURFING Motor cruising is forbidden in the stretch of water opposite the coast of Riva del Garda, Arco and Torbole (around 10 sq. km).

SURVEILLANCE AND PENALTIES A range of administrative fines is foreseen (from 15.50 to 516,50) according to the seriousness of the offence Special norms refer to surveillance services.
EQUIPMENT According to national laws on navigation in force, foreign craft may be equipped with safety equipment according to their country of origin. According to italian law it would be necessary to have an approved life jacket for each person on board.
